Description
HEPA – a type of high-efficiency air filter designed primarily to remove fine particles from the air.
The main difference between HEPA filters and coarse and fine filters is that, for filtration to occur, particles do not necessarily have to become trapped in the fibres. If a dust particle simply comes into contact with the filter material, this is sufficient for effective capture. This involves two processes: adhesion and auto-adhesion.
Little-known facts about HEPA filters:
- HEPA filters can trap particles of all sizes.
- Dust is trapped in a HEPA filter practically forever.
- Vacuuming a HEPA filter is pointless – you just need to replace it.
- Over time, the effectiveness of a HEPA filter only increases.
How a HEPA filter works :
- An air flow containing dust particles of various sizes, from 10 µm and smaller, enters the filter
- Larger particles are separated from the air flow by the inertia effect, whilst smaller particles are separated by the diffusion effect
- All particles that have been separated from the flow and come into contact with the fibres settle on the filter
- The particles are firmly held on the fibres by gravitational forces (van der Waals forces)

Product returns
